The Colac Vets had nine riders for their monthly medal.
Riders once again raced with strong westerly winds.
The 12 minute group was given an extra minute start just before they were due to start due to a late withdrawal.
This proved to be a deciding factor in the close outcome of the result.
Heading up and over Lineen’s hill to the finish line, 13 minute rider Peter Theodore broke away from his co-marker.
At the same point, second scratch rider Heather Hamling broke away from her co-marker to go after Theodore.
Then scratchmen Grant Oates broke away from his co-markers to go after both Theodore and Hamling.
The result was Theodore holding on by just 30 metres, to win his second monthly medal in a row, from Hamling who also held on by a few bike lengths to take second place from Oates in third.

The Colac Vets had eleven riders competing in their toughest club race for the year.
Riders were lucky to have a break in the atrocious weather on Sunday morning, or so they thought.
The race started in fine conditions albeit the very strong westerly winds.
At the 25Km mark heading up and over Lineen’s hill the first time with scratchman Grant Oates on the front of scratch, he topped the speed out at 59.6Km/h in the tail wind.
But then 5Km later heading up and over the Alvie hill into a headwind the four scratchmen’s speed dropped to the low 20’s.
At this point as scratch was about to catch the rest of the field, riders were hit with a mini storm including hail stones.
A few hundred metres later officials instructed that the race would be cut 5Km short and finish up and over Lineen’s hill instead of going back up the Alvie hill.
Coming over Lineen’s hill only six riders remained to contest the finish.
After a long lead out from Michael Markham, Ralph Iselt powered to the line to take his second win for the year with Grant Oates hot on his tail for second.
Markham held on for third place.
